My family likes to think that we live in a safe neighborhood with neighbors we can trust to tell us if we accidentally left the garage door open or pick up the mail for us if we are out of town. Although there have been several instances in the past couple years that our neighborhood has been less than safe. For instance, last year at 2 o'clock in the morning a man that had just robbed a local Walgreens sped down my street and crashed into a house. When neighbors started coming out to see what was going on, he pulled out a gun and started shooting up the neighborhood. Nobody was hurt, but it was definitely a scary event. We also had to have the S.W.A.T team come to bomb out the people that lived in the house just down the street because they were involved in Mail Fraud and suspected to be involved in the selling of drugs.
Last night another scary incident occured when Angela Hofeling was at the Patterson Elementary playground with her friend, Caitlin Dees, and a man with a bandana covering his face grabbed Angela and pinned her to the ground. He had a knife with him and he cut her on her upper arm during the struggle. While this was going on, Caitlin was in shock and she started backing away. The man told Angela to tell her friend to stay or else he would kill her. Angela wouldn't say anything so he started after Caitlin and Angela ran to a nearby ward members house. When the guy realized he didn't have a handle on the situation, he ran off. Police still haven't found the guy yet but thankfully Angela and Caitlin are fine. My neighborhood was yet again surrounded by cop cars!
In the thick of it all, Tylon conveniently showed up! haha. I had asked him out on a date yesterday afternoon but he was at football practice. My idea was to get two different colored balloons. If he said yes to the date he was supposed to let the red balloon into the air, and the blue for no. Since he wasn't home, we left the balloons with his mom. The idea was successfull when Andrea asked Jared DeAdder to go with us on the group date. He said yes and let the red balloon into the air while we were crouched down in my car with binoculars at the end of the street. hahaha. it was fun. So Tylon showed last night with the red balloon, but he was afraid to let it into the air because he though the police helicopter would yell at him. haha. We talked for about an hour because he wanted to wait for everything to die down before going home (in other words he was scared like a little girl). After the neighborhood calmed down a bit, Tylon let the red balloon into the air and went home. He was very sweet to come over. He didn't have to. I was just expecting him to call me and say yes. But that's Tylon for ya :)
SO THAT WAS MY CRAZY NIGHT. I'M DEFINITELY MORE CAREFUL WHEN I WALK AROUND MY NEIGHBORHOOD NOW.
