Best Album of the Year: The Avett Brothers "I and Love and You"

Had you asked me at the beggining of the year what artist's ablum would be my #1 by the end, I would have definitely said Dashboard Confessional. And although "Alter the Ending" was a great album, the Avett Brother's "I and Love and You" completely surprised me. This trio typically incorporates banjo into their music, but they took advantage of the piano and killed this album! "I and Love and You" is my favorite song off the album, although all of them are excellent!

Cutest Movie of the Year...witht the hottest male lead ;)

Definitely, Maybe is by far the CUTEST movie of 2009. Sure the storyline doesn't seem very realistic. I mean, what child wants to hook their recently divorced father up with his ex-flame?...i don't think so. Still very cute. And DANG YOU RYAN REYNOLDS!! WHY MUST YOU BE SO SEXY...YET SO TAKEN!!! Stupid Scarlett Johansenn.

Best Movie of the Year: (500) Days of Summer

i rented this movie last night and quickly fell in love with it! i love anything that subverts a genre and messes with expectations. It's a romantic comedy...that isn't exactly a romantic comedy. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is irresistible, the characters are incredibly well-drawn, and the nontraditional ending somehow still leaves you feeling satisfied. Plus, the music is fantastic, there's an adorable dance number, and the ending is classic!
This Dance Number made me smile!! I love it!

Fun Converstaions With People On Facebook #2

I love chatting with Taylor Teeples. This was a funny conversation we had today.
taylor why is the majority of paper white?
hahahaha i wish i knew the answer tobie. but you would think most of it would be brown... after all that IS the color of trees!
exactly. do you think a tree would know the more appropraite answer to this question?I do.
WHAT?! i'm sorry taylor but i wasn't proposing to you...
i know. it's hard not to resist.

what?!?! Tobie but i was so looking forward to a happy life with you!
but maybe one day you'll find another tobie...preferably a male counterpart.
Sigh... i guess you are right. But wait... you aren't male?? I was sure tobie was a boy
Gosh i really messed up!

it's the tush. i have a very masculine tush.
been cursed with it ever since birth
true story

I believe it... i always knew you could tell a person's gender by the tush
you're very right taylor. as a matter of fact i read that when a child is born the doctor slaps it's tush not just to cause it to take a breath, but to examine the feminitity or masculinity of the tush.I am not surprised!! I knew there must have been something behind it!
hahahahaha! BEHIND it.
Hahahahaha i didn't even notice that!!

This was a rather unsuccessfull chat with Rocky. I cannot believe this kid. He always gets me confused with Gina or Shelby, but this time he just went too far. I didn't necessarily annoy him but i made sure he felt bad! hahaha.

Rocky how can sweet and sour sauce be sweet and sour at the same time?!
ahhaha toess!
i meant to say tobes
lol
hahahaha
sorry
heyyy
iddkk??!
you NEVER get my name right Rocky!!!!
EVER!!!
lmaoo
do you realize you just called me Toes?!
i love u duude... hahahah
hahah

i have nothing to say to you anymore.

Annoying People on Facebook #1

This is an example of a typical conversation i will have on Facebook with Hillary that will normally start with a totally random question and I let it go from there, trying my best to annoy her until she logs off. I'm such a great friend. But her life would be nothing without these chats and she knows it. All the bolded stuff is what i said.

what does a yellow gnome put on his toast?
I have no idea.
BUTTER!
duh
How did I not know that?
your just not as entelignet as me
And you just proved that.
i know. it's a ghift
from gawd
he luves meh

I can't believe I just laughed at that..
at my ghift?
its leghit!

2 legit.
not a laffing mater
to quiet

?
oh. hahaha. i spelt "qwit" wrong!
hahaha. nobody can be perfeckt

Woooooooow.,
i know...what can i say? i'm special.
VERY!
i told someone that once and then they said "Ed." I laughed what did Ed have to do with anything?? I think they were a little off their rocker if ya know what i mean.
don't even know an Ed!!!

Tobie, how do you get friends?!
i have no clue. gawd just blesses me with them. it must be my eye lashes.
people just can't resist them.

How weirdd..
there have been several occasion when somebody gets a little too obsessed with them and i'm just like "whoa! back it up a bit my friend. no homo." i mean, they're practically humping my shoulder to see my eye lashes.
thats why i had to get glasses. for protection. and some space!

can't believe you said no homo about your EYE LASHES!!!
hill...they wanted to make out with them...or something like that!
it was just becoming too much.
if ya know what i mean

No, b/c people don't get all up on me to look at my eye lashes!
yea well yours aren't like mine!
mine are a gift from gawd

Okay tobie. okay.
if ya know what i mean
it's like gawd swept up a bunch of helpless mice and plucked their whiskers then gently placed them on the tips of my precious eyes.
.....
dont' you dare tell anyone i'm part mouse!
if they find out, i might not have as many friends

OR ANY!!!
oh my gosh. you so understand me!
it's like your a mouse to
....are you?
squeek. squeek...SQUEEKEN!
did you understand that?
do you like cheese?
like...a lot?
are you scared of cats?
or do you scare the elephants when you go to the zoo?

Tobie, I have to leave.
have you ever met a cat named Tom?
do you know the Secret of Nihm?

Bye tobie!
goodbye my fellow mouse friend!

*hahahaha! She lasted about five minutes before logging off. Stay tuned for next time when I'll try and break my record! :)

La Vida de ToBo

HOLA MI FRIOS!!! so since my blog experiences difficulties on everyone's computer BUT mine, i'll try my best to use this blog more often :)
So what has ToBo been up to lately...? I'll try and break it down using a few key topics.

SCHOOL: unfortunately i have already done or rather NOT done something that i'm going to regret NOT doing in high school. i took the PSAT's last year, but this year i got lazy and didn't sign up. DUMB MOVE. my parents are ordering a $200 ACT prep program for the computer so at least i'll be prepared for SOMETHING! besides that, i've been doing pretty well in school. 3.8 GPA. not too shabby. i'm going to be in the school production of Noises Off! It's a comedy and ... YOU KNOW ME! it's gonna be hilarious! tickets are $4 now and $5 at the door. the performance will be on Nov. 5 & 6! talk to me about buying tickets :)

DATING: i went on THE MOST FUN DATE EVER last week! The group was: Andrea-Jared DeAdder, Angela-David, Kelli Jenkins-Anand Zahan, Justin-Regina, Me-Tylon! We sent the guys on a scavenger hunt to "earn" their dates and prove themselves worthy of such beautiful and amazing young women.

here is tylon reading the first clue. it went something like "go to the avenue of dolphins where the swan swims on the red lake and convince the family to let you search their garage for something that you would use to build a fire. the next clue will be attached." they had to go to the Hofeling's house (swan swims on red lake...jacob's car! haha) meanwhile, we were across the street at Gina's house watching them search for FOREVER through the garage.

***RESPECT THE SWAN***

Finally the guys found a block of wood in the Hofeling's garage with the next clue with a grocery list of stuff to make smore's and of course FRESA! the money was inclosed in the envelope and we advised them to spend it wisely but to make sure to save a dollar for the next challenge.

Next they were instructed to go to the Dollar Store and buy something pretty an 8 year old girl would like (pretty much my little sister Shelbie helped us plan this thing and to pay her back we had the guys go get her something) We only expected them to get her one toy but each of them got her one. Needless to say, they COMPLETELY MADE THAT LITTLE GIRLS DAY! it was very sweet.

haha. so funny story. see that ugly lizard that Justin is holding. the guys originally handed Shelby that hideous thing and of course she politely accepted it but inside was thinking "What the crap is this thing?" then they all pulled out the cute stuffed animals and her face lit up.

here is Justin with another block of wood that had a clue.

next the boys had to go to the Teeple's house and perform "I'm a Little Teapot" unfortunately Taylor didn't know how to work the camera, so we don't have actual proof that they completed that challenge. Then Taylor gave them a puzzle to put together with a message on the back that only Tylon would understand. haha. Once Tylon texted us the message we told them to find us at Skyline Park and the rest of the night included:
-eating Hungry Howie's
-making Smore's
-playing Sardines
-getting in arguments over putting out our fire with little 10 year old girls. haha. Tylon went over and smoothed things over.
-roasting glowsticks (don't ask)
-watching Andrea get stuck on the monkey bars (unfortunately i don't have a pic of that but i've never seen anything like it and it's all Jared's fault! haha)

Ty kept messing with those scewers and cutting himself. i don't know what he was thinking. according to him, he was just trying to serenade me and play the drums with the screwers. my face says it all. hahaha.

Jared and Andrea had some sort of medieval duel with the screwers before we made the Smore's. As you can see, he won. It was Jared's first date!!! You could tell he had so much fun. I was very proud of Andrea and I for pulling that whole night together.

THE BEST LOOKING DATES OUT THERE! HAHA.

Til Next Time,
TOBO :)

Alyssa Bernal :)

i'm not big on youtube singers but i found this one girl that is AMAZING! her songs are always stuck in my head and it's funny because most of her videos are done in the bathroom. XD tehe. i've already converted most of her songs into mp3's to listen to on my ipod. here's my favorite original song of hers that she posted recently. It's called "She Was Mine"

here are cover duets that she's done with other youtubers. it's so cool that you can synchronize the two performances!

MUSIC UPDATE :)

Of course my friends, my blog wouldn't be complete without my frequent music posts. This week I fell in love all over again with a song I'd heard a few months ago by The Cinematic Orchestra and it was featured last night on One Tree Hill. I felt pretty proud of myself because the first time I had heard that song, I thought it would be a PERFECT song for a television show like OTH. The song is called "To Build A Home" and it is BY FAR the prettiest piano song i've heard this year!

Another song that's been stuck in my head a lot lately is "Back Against the Wall" by Cage the Elephant. They're just now starting to get a bit popular and getting some recognition by having their songs featured in tv shows.

Well I've got homework to do so i'll make this short. Now i'm definitely in the mood for listening to these songs while doing my homework :)

Scary Chaotic Night..."Welcome to my Neighborhood :)"

My family likes to think that we live in a safe neighborhood with neighbors we can trust to tell us if we accidentally left the garage door open or pick up the mail for us if we are out of town. Although there have been several instances in the past couple years that our neighborhood has been less than safe. For instance, last year at 2 o'clock in the morning a man that had just robbed a local Walgreens sped down my street and crashed into a house. When neighbors started coming out to see what was going on, he pulled out a gun and started shooting up the neighborhood. Nobody was hurt, but it was definitely a scary event. We also had to have the S.W.A.T team come to bomb out the people that lived in the house just down the street because they were involved in Mail Fraud and suspected to be involved in the selling of drugs.
Last night another scary incident occured when Angela Hofeling was at the Patterson Elementary playground with her friend, Caitlin Dees, and a man with a bandana covering his face grabbed Angela and pinned her to the ground. He had a knife with him and he cut her on her upper arm during the struggle. While this was going on, Caitlin was in shock and she started backing away. The man told Angela to tell her friend to stay or else he would kill her. Angela wouldn't say anything so he started after Caitlin and Angela ran to a nearby ward members house. When the guy realized he didn't have a handle on the situation, he ran off. Police still haven't found the guy yet but thankfully Angela and Caitlin are fine. My neighborhood was yet again surrounded by cop cars!
In the thick of it all, Tylon conveniently showed up! haha. I had asked him out on a date yesterday afternoon but he was at football practice. My idea was to get two different colored balloons. If he said yes to the date he was supposed to let the red balloon into the air, and the blue for no. Since he wasn't home, we left the balloons with his mom. The idea was successfull when Andrea asked Jared DeAdder to go with us on the group date. He said yes and let the red balloon into the air while we were crouched down in my car with binoculars at the end of the street. hahaha. it was fun. So Tylon showed last night with the red balloon, but he was afraid to let it into the air because he though the police helicopter would yell at him. haha. We talked for about an hour because he wanted to wait for everything to die down before going home (in other words he was scared like a little girl). After the neighborhood calmed down a bit, Tylon let the red balloon into the air and went home. He was very sweet to come over. He didn't have to. I was just expecting him to call me and say yes. But that's Tylon for ya :)
SO THAT WAS MY CRAZY NIGHT. I'M DEFINITELY MORE CAREFUL WHEN I WALK AROUND MY NEIGHBORHOOD NOW.

Update on Me.

Lately, most of my posts have been about music, tv, movies, or other people. So to make sure its clear that this blog is in fact about ME. i guess i'll give an update on what's been going on in my life. even though i consider music, tv, movies, and friends to take up a majority of it.

School...
is "ok." i wish i was doing a bit better. it's like in the back of my mind i keep telling myself that come graduation i'm going to regret not working hard in my classes to get a good grade but i think i can generally speak for this generation of youth in saying that "we're lazy." nobody wants to make the effort to go in for tutoring or do homework, they'd rather be playing video games or spending endless hours on facebook. i currently have about 3 homework assignments, one of them being a book report, that i must complete over the break and i haven't even started them! i haven't even changed out of my PJ's today for goodness sakes!!
i'm still undecided about what i want to do with my life. i should probably go talk to a counselor or go to the career center, but i am LAZY. kazhia has gotten me thinking about going to BYU. my increasing love for writing scripts and watching an infinite number of tv shows has gotten me thinking about film school or majoring in some sort of broadcasting.
spanish is starting to get on my nerves and although i would love to continue studying it, it's just become too much for me. i hate to give it up because i've spent all of jr. high and most of high school taking that class but i've given up hope of becoming fluent. my dreams of spain are looking thinner and thinner every hour i spend in that class.
DID I MENTION I MADE THIS YEARS FALL PLAY??
i did!!! it's called Noises Off. the whole concept is that it's a play within a play. it shows all the commotion and things that take place during a shows rehearsal and backstage. i got the role of the stage manager "Poppy." i know. weird name, but whatever. My character is hiding the secret that she is pregnant. This will be the second time I've been "pregnant" in that class!!

I Turned 17...
Sept. 30th was my birthday. Thanks to everyone that wished me a good one! I'll admit that it wasn't as great as my 16th. that is still my favorite birthday so far. But i got the tickets to the Dashboard Confessional concert!! (ok. i promise that will be my only mention of music in this post) I had sort of an early birthday present when i went with my HoBo to the DBacks Game. I HAVEN'T BLOGGED ABOUT THAT YET HAVE I?

DBACKS GAME W/ HOBO...

here is hobo posing with our lightrail passes on our first trip on the lightrail. it was pretty crazy i must admit. even though we still went in the afternoon, there was some wack jobs! a group of guys that looked like college student age (however i doubt they were intelligent enough to get into any college) sat next to us. two of them were polite, but the third one was obviously high. he was cursing up a storm and his friends seemed pretty embarrassed about it. the one that sat next to me was nice. they commented about our t-shirts we made and we talked some baseball for a while.

we had Panda for dinner. it was extremely overpriced and tasted like poop. don't you love the ballpark?? we ate it anyway and didn't complain. probably because we got HIGH CLASS SEATS YO!!!!

our seats were incredible! i've never sat in seats so expensive in my life. thank goodness they were free!! these pics don't even do it justice!! you could literally see the players BUTTS!! it was a wonderful night.

we got pretty crazy. i have no clue why kelsey is licking her hand. i must have told her to do something crazy and that seems to be the "go-to-move."

And then we crashed. hahahaha.

Tribute to Kazhia

so i know the title sounds like she's died or something, but Kazhia is still alive and kickin'...i think. wouldn't that be terrible if she was dead right now? like i post this around 5:30ish and she could be bleeding and in a ditch right now. i think cold and hungry would be a more likely situation since she's in Utah...ANYWAY! i still haven't told Kazhia how much i LOVVVVVED the video and picture she made me for my birthday! and how badly i want to go to college now because of all the crazy adventures she has been having at BYU right now!

here is the masterpiece that represents all the nonsense that took place in her dream. oh how i wish it was real... :(
I MISS YOU KAZHIA!!! HOPE YOU AREN'T TOO LONELY WITHOUT ME!

Movies I Wish I'd Written...

#1. While You Were Sleeping
if you love Sandra Bullock, then you'll LOVE this movie! it's my all time favorite! i love everything from the setting to the music playing in the background. Rachel Portman scored the movie and I absolutely LOVE her compositions! She also created the music played in The Lakehouse and Chocolate. it is the cutest movie of all time and totally hilarious.

#2. Mannequin
ok. so i wouldn't really want to take credit for this movie. it's a pretty ridiculous concept. i mean, a man falls in love with a mannequin that comes to life??? really?? but i will admit that it was one of my favorite movies when i was little.

#3. Elizabethtown
although there are a few scenes in this movie that are questionable in quality, i really love this movie. For one, Orlando Bloom is H.O.T HOT! and he and Kristen Dunst make an adorable couple. the music featured in this movie is fantastic as well. the ending wasn't the best but it was overall a well written script.

#4. Where the Heart Is
i absolutely adore Natalie Portman! And Where the Heart Is would be mine and Andrea's favorite that we agree on. This movie never gets old and I cry every time i watch it.

#5. You've Got Mail
although i love meg ryan and tom hanks in Sleepless in Seattle, i like You've Got Mail even more!
*btw: this trailer is kind of lame because all i could get was a fanmade one. it's not too bad though.

Top 10 Artists You SHOULD Know...

#1. Noisettes
i've mentioned them before in a few other posts, but i seriously cannot say enough about this group!! the lead singer has a voice similar to Duffy. i don't even know how to describe this band. they have several funky, fun songs. Their song "Never Forget You" is always stuck in my head!

Honorable Mentions:
*Don't Upset the Rhythm (another funky song)
*Sometimes (a rare acoustic song. very pretty)

#2. Rosi Golan
nobody has heard of her, which is a shame because her voice is so beautiful and her music is so pretty. If you like Missy Higgins, then you'll like Rosi Golan. My favorite song of hers is "Come Around."

Honorable Mentions:
*Think of Me (has a folk feel to it)
*Been a Long Day (beautiful lyrics)

#3. Matthew Perryman Jones
his songs are so sad, but absolutely beautiful! i'm just a sucker for sad songs. i play his music on rainy days.

Honorable Mentions:
*Out of Reach (his newest single. one word: AMAZING)
*Where the Road Meets the Sun (this song features another artist you SHOULD know, Katie Herzig, and the two of them singing together is magical!)

#4. Katie Herzig
speaking of her...Katie Herzig!! She's another one of my favorite "moody" singers. ha. however, one of my favorite songs by her is surprisingly upbeat. it's called "Hey Na Na" and it has the catchiest chorus IN THE WORLD!

Honorable Mentions:
*Forevermore
*Fools Gold

#5. Amy Kuney
her voice is one of those deep, thick one's like KT Tunstall. My favorite song of her's is "All Downhill From Here." i prefer her live version of it. she is so talented!

Honorable Mentions:
*Simple Things
*Rocket Surgery

#6. Angela Anne
so this is kind of weird talking about her since she was one of my best friends in elementary school, BUT everyone should listen to Angela Anne (aka: Angie Flores) the coolest chick out there who just signed with a record label and when she refers to her "job" she's really working in a recording studio...HOW COOL IS THAT?! she's awesome! although i love her dearly, i like her original songs better than her covers. Here is my absolute favorite song of hers called "Clueless
" Check her out at www.angelaanne.com

#7. The Script
i can't even begin to describe how awesome The Script is! i've been listening to them for a year and their songs never get old! "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" is one of my favs from them.
btw: this video is pretty gay but it was all i could find for this song.

Honorable Mentions:
*If You See Kay
*Live Like We're Dying (not to be confused with the Tim McGraw song)

#8. La Rocca
probably my all-time favorite band if you minus dashboard confessional. i've already decided that i want a La Rocca song playing at my funeral! if you don't immediatly fall in love with this band...then you are psycho! I have too many favorites. Currently "Ballad of Arizona" is my favorite. the intro is just so amazing! it immediatly catches my attention and puts me in a good mood.

Honorable Mentions:
*Non-believer (if there is EVER a song to hear from La Rocca, this one is a MUST)
*Roadway Hymn (i listen to this in the car during vacation trips all the time. it puts me to sleep...in a good way!)

#9. Low Vs. Diamond
i've seriously mentioned these past two artists probably a million times in other posts and you've probably heard their songs on my playlist before, but i just want to emphasize how incredibly AMAZING La Rocca and Low Vs. Diamond are!!! And just like La Rocca it's going to be hard to choose just one favorite...but for now i would have to say "This is Your Life" is one of my favorites!

Honorable Mentions:
*Killer B (the guitar in the background is insanely good!)
*Heart Attack

#10. Nada Surf
oh geez. i've mentioned Nada Surf several times in the past as well. i guess i should've entitled this post "Top 10 Arstist You SHOULD Know...By Now! Since Tobie Never Shuts Up About It" although that's a rather lengthy title. I can't say anything bad about Nada Surf. one of my favorite lyrics comes from their song "Always Love" it says "...to make a mountain of your life is just a choice." i always think about that lyric because of how much truth comes from it. it really is all in your attitude and approach to life. if you think life is overwhelming and hard it's because you choose to think that way. the rest of the song is kind of "hippy-ish" in my opinion but the message is beautiful.

Honorable Mentions:
*Inside of Love
*I Like What You Say

THANKS FOR ENDURING THIS VERY LONG TOP TEN LIST! I HOPE I DIDN'T BORE ANYONE. BUT I'M JUST OBSESSED WITH MUSIC AND I HOPE AT LEAST 1 PERSON ENJOYED MY RECOMMENDATIONS :)

The Avett Brothers "I and Love and You"

check out these tracks...

1. I and Love and You

5. The Perfect Space

7. Kick Drum Heart

New Fall TV Shows

so i don't know if anybody else has noticed, but this fall has been booming with new tv shows! some good...some not so good. i'll start off with my favorites and the ones i would recommend most...

#1. NBC's Community
i absolutely LOVE this show. it's similar to The Office and i would say almost better. i love Joel McHale from E!'s The Soup to begin with and i think he's amazing in this show. PLUS...Chevy Chase! And this weird Indian actor that is hilarious.

#2.NBC's Mercy
i must say that NBC had a pretty good showing of pilot's this fall. Mercy is one of them. I'm not sure how great this show will do because of how eerily similar it is to Grey's Anatomy and viewers want originality. However, one big difference is that the main character spent time as a nurse in Iraq, so it shows how she handles coming back home. I really enjoyed the pilot, but i wouldn't say it's a "breakthrough" show.

Now onto the shows i least enjoyed...

#1. The CW's Vampire Diaries
Maybe it's just because i'm sick of hearing about vampires falling in love with humans and i do understand that this was also a book series before Twilight, but I find Vampire Diaries to be ridiculous. Although i will admit that the acting is far better than Twilight and the actors are definitely more attractive, I think The CW is just begging to get some money out of this. Unfortunetly crap sells, so i have a feeling this show won't get cancelled.

#2. The CW's Beautiful Life
However, a CW show that thankfully did get cancelled was Beautiful Life. Proving that Disney Channel Stars rarely if ever make it past tween viewers and that Corbin Bleu can't act. It also reminded Mischa Barton that she should have never left the O.C. because all that resulted from that was ending a perfectly good show as well as ending her success as an actress. Didn't she go to rehab recently? Point Proven.

So there you have it. NBC did pretty good when it came to releasing new shows and the CW succeeded yet again in producing ridiculously annoying shows (thankfully only 50% made it). I guess i should cut the CW some slack, they are a fairly new network. I just miss the WB darn it!!

What I've Been Listening To Lately...

I'm going to try and be short with this one because i always take forever when i'm talking about the music that i love...

#2. People Say by Portugal. The Man (such a fun song)

#13. Blood Oranges by Foreign Born (i love the chorus to this song)
#14. Rewind by Diane Birch (reminds me of Grace Potter's "Appologies")
#15. My Heart Still Beats For You by Anna Ternheim
#16. Next in Line by Meese (love the "na na na's" in this song)
#17. Apathy by Elizabeth & The Catapult (amazing band)

Lady...WHAT THE?!?!

so i look pretty gross today so no vlog :( plus it'd be pretty hard for me to explain this blog without using pics and whatnot. let me just jump into it then...

i'll admit that i occasionally find myself humming "Pokerface" or "LoveGame" by Lady Gaga and i've never really payed attention to see what she was all about...until i watched the 2009 MTV VMA's last week. i have nothing against Lady Gaga besides the fact that i think she is a psycho.

DOES ANYBODY ELSE CONSIDER THIS ANIMAL CRUELTY?? POOR KERMIT.

LADY GAGA??? MORE LIKE LADY CA-CAW!!!

REALLY...? SHE LOOKS LIKE A USED TAMPON!! IT'S DISTURBING!!

OH WAIT...THAT'S RIGHT! SHE REALLY WAS ON HER PERIOD THAT NIGHT!!

Entering the Era of Vlogging!!!

I Miss Kazhia!

So I wrote a song for Kazhia the other day because i've been missing her like crazy ever since she left for BYU and i was bored last night so i turned the song into a kind of music video if you will. Here is the song I wrote for her.

And here is a bonus featture! This is Kazhia the bear singing a Backstreet Boys song of course because that's Kazhia's fav! And there is a guest appearance by me at the end. Kazhia the bear and I collaborated so well in this vid.

Update!!

SO it's been quite a while since i've updated my blog! i haven't posted at ALL this school year so i guess i'll share a few things that've been going on in my life (no gaurantees it'll be interesting)...

I'M A JUNIOR!!! and loving it! this year is starting out to be a great one. probably my favorite year in high school so far although i think my senior year will be even greater! my teachers are amazing! except my math teacher (she's a sweetheart and i've known her since elementary school. she lived across the street from me and she's lds) but she is just so dang BORING! i mean, math is a boring subject to begin with but she just takes it to this whole other level or boredom i didn't think was possible!!

ANYWAY, i'm in AP Spanish this year and still wondering what i'm doing to myself. i used to think this was what i wanted- to become fluent! but now i'm not so sure anymore. writing is my passion (wow. i just sounded like a dork) but honestly, if there was one thing i wish i could do for the rest of my life or make into a career, it would be writing. ESPECIALLY FOR A TV SHOW! but those are just lofty dreams of mine. moving to LA and going to film school would be awfully scary.

Kazhia and Nikki have left me for college! those ol' geezers! but let me tell ya, BYU and NAU just got a whole heck of a lot crazier with those two in attendance! ;) i miss them like crazy, but from the sounds of it they're having a blast! which makes me excited for college!

SEMINARY is CRAZY...as usual. today we had a pool noodle fight. i swear bro. goss promotes violence sometimes! it was so much fun!...............hobo kicked my butt.....BUT WHATEVER!

LAST night was the first home girls volleyball game in which they lost...surprised? HAH! as if. i'll admit that watching the game made me miss playing quite a bit and a lot of people have been asking if i'll end up playing next year and i honestly don't know. i mean, i totally miss it but i don't want to go out on that court if i can't play to my fullest. i don't want to have to use the excuse "oh sorry coach. couldn't dive for that ball! tough break! you know me... got rods in the back."...lame! and embarrasing! plus i know that if i do play again that i'll be so "in the zone" i'll forget that i still have certain limitations and i'm afraid that i'll hurt myself. i guess the key word to why i'm hesitating to play v-ball again is
"fear"
i'm afraid

WHOOHOO FOR FRIDAYS THOUGH!!! gina and i have made it a tradition that every friday i go over to her house and we watch Psych...of course. we set aside a whole night for tv. you know me! hahaha. and she just got DVR which is probably the most prized possesion any tv fanatic could have! talk about me being jealous! Psych doesn't come back for another week (dang haitus'!) so tonight we are watching a sneak peek of the first 25 minutes of the second episode of Glee that we bought on dvd from Wal-mart for $5!!! We're crazy!

~MUSIC~
my blogs would never be complete without my rant about what i'm listening too! so...

Family Force Five (Love Addict is a BOMB song to listen to and dance around like a spas) they're coming to AZ soon and i think Gina and i might go to the concert.

Grace Potter and The Nocturnals (Appologies is one of my favorite songs from her!)

Jack Johnson (I can't stop listening to Banana Pancakes! i love waking up to that song in the morning)

Adele (It finally rained last night so i was allowed to listen to Hometown Glory! i seriously wouldn't listen to that song any other way. only when it's raining! i immediatly ran to my room, opened up my window, and turned that song up on my ipod dock. perfect night.)

Trespassers William (Lie in the Sound is such a sad song, but i realized that the majority of songs in my itunes library are sad songs! i'm such a loner. hahaha)

What's Good??

my life is finally starting to get interesting...well i guess i shouldn't say my life, more like tv/music is getting interesting. "WAIT! THAT IS MY LIFE" hahaha. so i just thought i'd list a few things that have caught my eye this week and everyone should check out.

#1. PSYCH SEASON 4 PREMIERE!!!

finally the wait is over and good television has returned!!! i've been waiting all summer for this show to air and i'd encourage everyone to see it whether or not you missed the first 3 seasons because no matter what i gaurantee you will laugh at the crazy antics of Shawn and Gus. Just take my advice and watch it tonight at 10pm on USA Network.

#2. The Noisettes

i first heard of these guys off of Lindsay Wolfington's (music supervisor genius for One Tree Hill and Ghost Whisperer)twitter page when she said that they were going to make a guest appearance on One Tree Hill next season :) so i decided to check them out. one reason i'd never heard of them before is because they're from the UK. their song "Never Forget You" has been stuck in my head for days now!!! they remind me a lot of The Ting Tings and Duffy but better.

#3. Modest Mouse Album Drops "No One's First And You're Next"

i went on itunes and noticed that modest mouse had released a new album and i've always liked their songs "Float On" and "Dashboard" so i decided to see if they'd put out any new songs that were just as good. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! this album is awesome! their song "King Rat" is amazing and the music vid for it was directed by Heath Ledger before he passed away.

#4. "Airplanes" by Local Natives

love this song! another reccommendation from music guru Lindsay Wolfington. her music preferences have never led me astray. check out this song. :)

#5. "What Would You Do" by Laura Izibor

another great song. the chorus is always stuck in my head. she reminds me of Corinne Bailey Rae but that might just be because of her hair. idk.

Psych!!!!

i am super excited for the Psych season 4 premiere next Friday!!! Psych is the one show that i can proudly say i've been watching since the Pilot...and it's in its 4th season already!! this show really doesn't get enough credit for how absolutely hilarious it is! I've been anxiously awaiting the 4th season for months now and i've been checking the internet everyday just searching for updates and videos that give hints about the new season. i'm hoping to get the 3rd season on dvd for my birthday. here are the blooper reels from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seasons. if you think the bloopers are funny, just watch the show!!
Season 1

Season 2

Season 3

Resort Time :)

the last 2 days i spent at the Arizona Grand Resort with my fam and gina! it was so much fun (mainly because gina was there) here's a list of the top 10 notable things that happened on the trip...

1. We checked out the "love sacs" at arizona mills. "wanna feel my love sac?" hahahaha!
2. We walked around some weird mineral store in which we learned that nothing they sold was "made by native americans" apparently they felt the need to inform every customer.
3. Smelled the weird incense that had equally weird smells like "sex on the beach" and "china rain" neither of which i had smelt before.
4. Gina and I tried our best to avoid my 6th grade teacher who just happened to be at the same resort on the same day!! what the heck is up with that?
5. I watched Gina go down the 8 story water slide!!! Whoohooo! Go Gina!!
6. Went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. Spent a good portion of the time trying to figure out what was in the crotch of the statue guy. hahaha. Got scared everytime there was a lightning storm in the cafe.
7. Got to check "jumping on a hotel bed" off of my bucket list! even though it was lame and gina and i didn't really jump on the bed because our heads practically touched the ceiling.
8. Had my first sleep over with Gina!! Stayed up into the wee hours of the morning watching tv and talking for endless hours about One Tree Hill.
9. Waiting all night to see Jack's Mannequin on Jimmy Kimmel!!! "Swim" is my new favorite song off of their album!
10. Got to spend 42 hours (which wasn't enough) with one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world! it was good to catch up on all the talking and fun stuff we haven't done together all summer! Thanks for spending the past 2 days with me Gina!!!

"Drop Dead Diva" is on Lifetime on Sundays and i lovveee it!!! there are some cheesy parts because...it is Lifetime we're talking about here, but it's still a really good show! if you can't find anything to watch on tv like me then you should definitely check out "Drop Dead Diva" at 9pm. The 3rd episode airs tonight, but they show re-runs on Lifetime thruought the week. :)

A Tale of Two...huh? The Story of my Summer.

so my summer project for AA Junior English is to read A Tale of Two Cities along with 2 other books off of a super long list of boringness. at first, i was excited to read a new book. but i was WRONG. here's how the reading has gone so far...

"Focus, Tobie! Focus! Whoa. I Really Need To Get Rid Of Some Of These Posters On My Walls. They're Starting To Creep Me Out. HEY!!! FOCUS!!!"
I Wonder If This Book Has An Important Message...NAAAAH!
The More I Read, The More I'm Frying My Brain!!!!
This Book Gets Pretty Gory. I Think I'm Gonna Barf.
Crazy British Dude Say What???

for everyone out there that must read this book in the future...i'm sorry.
